Discord
Our Discord server provides a small group discussion space for people who attend other events regularly and have proven that they share the values and behaviours in our code of conduct.
How to Join
The link below will direct you to the #getting-started channel. Access to the rest of the server is manually granted (usually within 24 hours, but this can vary) if you meet the following requirements:
- Acknowledge and abide by the behaviours in our Code of Conduct
- Attend our events or engage on our other public platforms regularly to confirm these behaviours
- Your name on the server is your real name, with your BGG name optionally in brackets. You can change this information for only one server by choosing "change nickname"
- React to the welcome message indicating your preferred player colour. Your reaction will be removed when access to the server is granted or denied
General Information
Channels: There are a number of different channels within the server, each including a description of the content that is appropriate for that channel. When deciding where to post, always use the most specific option to help separate conversations and respect other member's notification settings. For example:
Notifications: As with any online platform, the default notification settings can be ridiculous but you can customize your settings for each channel, category or server by right clicking on its name.
Threads: If posting or replying to a message that may generate a discussion, use the "Create Thread" option to allow responses and notifications to be contained within that thread. If you want to receive notifications for messages within a thread, post in that thread or click the bell at the top of the page.
Formatting options are described here.
- #market for anything related to sales (new or used), releases, reviews or recommendations
- #conventions for anything related to events hosted by other groups
