Species and Size
There are 2 main factors that determine the price of a table: the species of wood and size of the table.
Your wood species selection is one of personal preference, although some are harder and more durable than others. These are the standard species of wood we have used, but we are able to work with any other species that you like:

We have also recently started fabricating tables using reclaimed oak train car flooring in which we utilize coloured epoxy in any cracks and voids in the wood to provide unique contrasts to this stunning wood although these are significantly more expensive due to the cost of the wood and the increased labour.

These dimensions are the interior playing area. The overall dimensions would be approximately 9" larger in both width and length.
We can make any size table, but the pricing will generally be for the next largest standard size.

These prices are current as of February 2024 and subject to change. Your detailed quote will include any adjustments for your custom design.
Standard Options
The following options are included in our standard design and have no effect on pricing.
Height
Our standard table heights range from a coffee table (24") to a dining table (30"). We can also make bar height (42") but these cost slightly more than the table above since they require additional leg support.

Dining Top
Our standard table comes with tongue and groove leaves to cover the play area and convert your gaming table into a dining table. These are normally oriented crosswise, though on shorter tables they can be oriented lengthwise instead.
We can also fabricate panels with matching or contrasting woods for the same price. The number of panels varies from 1 to 3 depending on the size of your table and your preference.
Or let us know if you don't want a solid top, leaving the play area available for impromptu gaming sessions.

The recessed play area is typically composed of:
The following picture shows our standard velvet colours which do a wonderful job of enhancing the natural grains of our woods, although there are a number of other colours available.

We prefer the look of a clear coat to show off the natural elements of the wood, but we can stain your table using standard stains or create stain colours to suit your room for an additional $400.

Cradle
A cradle allows the play area to be raised flush with the perimeter rails. A cradle would also allow the play surface to be removed entirely for maps or layouts suitable for Role Playing Games or Wargames.

If adding a cradle, the bottom of your play area has 2 layers of Baltic Birch (one removable and one fixed). We recommend a layer of 1/8" plexiglas or Lexan to cover your maps or layouts to protect these surfaces and provide a surface that you can write or draw on with erasable markers.
The cost for a cradle starts at $400 depending on your table size and chosen wood species.

We can also provide chairs to match your table.
Timing & Shipping
After working together to design your perfect table, we'll provide a detailed quote. Should you decide to proceed, we require a down payment equal to 50% of the purchase price. The balance would be due after completion of the table but prior to shipping or pick up.
The time it takes to build your custom table is often between 3 and 7 months.
We typically ship within North America using a freight company who will deliver your table to your curb in a crate made specifically for your table. Packaging and shipping depends on the weight of your table and your location but starts at $800 within Canada and $1600 to the USA.
Local pick up near Kingston is also available if you have a sufficiently large vehicle to safely transport your table. If you are considering pick up, we ask that you are prepared to pick up your table within a week of it being finished or make alternate arrangements for storage since we do not have a large area for storing finished tables.
