The larger key is for the front and side doors of the building. The front door can be tricky cause the key won't turn if it's all the way in. The back door is just past our unit door around the bend in the hallway. Access can also be granted by buzzing Sara (4338) or Duncan (4231).
The smaller key is for our apartment door which can also stick. This is a smart lock so we can also unlock it if you buzz us for building access or by texting Sara (647.293.6564) or Duncan (416.919.1517). Our wifi is Tower or Tower-5G and the password is ertyuiop[]\
Can you Spot the Differences?
Bauble and Trinket look very similar but there are a number of ways you can tell them apart.

Our routine is listed in its entirety with times for reference, but the items in bold are the only ones that are required and the specific order and times can be adjusted to your convenience. If you will be sleeping here, the cats will likely wake you up earlier than you'd like since they are used to their routine starting early, or if you're here around 8:30 pm, this lets you know why Trinket is trying to get your attention.
Food
They eat 4 times per a day, twice in the morning and twice in the evening. The specific times can be flexible but we'd like each feeding to be at least an hour apart.
Setup
Take one can of wet food from the pantry between the fridge and games, usually whichever is on top of the front stack on the right-hand side (think of it as a Feld wall ;-)
Close the pantry and check that their mats are on the floor in front of it.
Take a spoon from the top-right drawer of the island.
Take two cat dishes from the cabinet above the microwave. We typically use the round fish dishes for Bauble and the pink cat-face dishes for Trinket, but they aren’t picky.
Take the round dish with “MEOW” written in it for Trinket’s dry food.
The kitchen scale is on the counter in front of the microwave.
Trinket’s dry food is in a glass jar behind the scale.
If this is the 2nd or 4th feeding of the day, take the HealthyMouth container and syringe from the cabinet just to the left of the sink.
Wait until both cats are on the floor. Bauble gets very excited and may jump up on the counter. If this happens before you’ve opened the can and you’re feeling patient, try stepping back from the counter and firmly saying “Bauble, down.” This usually works after 1-4 repetitions. Otherwise, you can move her to the floor.
Process
Open the dry food container and put four (4) kernels into Trinket’s dry food bowl.
Open the can and use the spoon to break up any large chunks.
Put Bauble’s dish on the scale and hit the ‘/T’ button on the right to turn the scale on or set it to 0. The scale should be set to grams, and will say ‘0 g’. If another unit is showing, press the ‘Unit’ button on the left until it cycles through to grams.
Serve 48g of food for Bauble. (If it is a 70g can, instead serve 43g)
Replace Bauble’s dish with Trinket’s and press ‘/T’ to zero the scale.
Serve the remainder of the can to Trinket which should be about 32g of food (if it is a 70g can, instead 27g). If not, transfer food between the dishes to even out the difference. For example, if Trinket gets 28g out of the can, move 2g from Bauble.
Bauble:48gTrinket:32g + 4 kernels
If this is the second or fourth feeding, take the HealthyMouth container. Put your hand over the lid and give it a quick shake, then open the container. Use the syringe to add 0.3 mL to Trinket’s dish. Use the spoon to stir it in.
Take Bauble’s dish in your left hand and Trinket’s in your right, and move over to the feeding mats. The cats will likely (hopefully!) beat you there. Put both dishes down on each side of the water and make sure that each cat is eating out of the correct dish (they have never not been on the correct side).
Take Trinket’s dry food and put it above and to the right of her wet food.
While they eat, rinse out the wet food can and lid. Place the lid inside the can and turn it upside-down in the sink. The spoon can also be rinsed and left in the sink.
If Trinket received the food additive, rinse the syringe by pulling running water into it and then squirting it back out, about three times. Return the syringe and container to the cabinet.
As they get close to finishing, they need to be watched because (especially Trinket) will try to sidle up beside Bauble to ‘help’ her finish. If this happens, say her name disapprovingly, and if she continues towards the other dish, move her a few feet away.
If they will have another feeding within 4 hours, leave the dishes down and reuse them at that feeding (they are allowed to return to lick each other’s dishes once both cats have walked away). Otherwise, put the wet food dishes on the upper rack of the dishwasher. The dry food dish can be left on the counter.
Water
We rinse the water dish and refill with fresh tap water once a day, or at least every other day. Since their diet is entirely wet food, they rarely drink water but we keep it available anyway. You’ll sometimes find wet paw prints on the floor when Trinket decides it’s a ‘finger bowl’ instead.
Brushing & Puffer
To reduce their shedding and help with allergens, we brush both cats daily, usually before the first feeding if we’re up around 6am or after the first feeding if we wake up later. The video of Bauble’s routine will hopefully help get you oriented.
Brushing is optional and dependent on them being willing to come and stay on the towel, but Bauble’s puffer is required every day to keep her from having an asthma attack. If Bauble will not come or stay on the island, wait until she settles in somewhere (likely the condo hammock or the bed) and give her the puffer there by following steps 7 to 16.
Set up and Brush Bauble
Remove the green towel and the 2 brushes from the top drawer of the pantry
Lay the towel over the edge of the island with the brushes on it or near it
Bauble will often come and jump up on her own. If not, call her while tapping the towel with an open hand. If she sits on the windowsill, table, or somewhere else nearby, pick her up and bring her to the towel. On the towel, she may lay on her side, roll around, and scratch/dig at the towel before and during brushing - this is all normal!
Use the grey brush to brush from her collar to the end of her tail (not belly)
Use the pink glove to remove the loose hairs from the same area
If you or the brush are giving shocks, it can help to run each brush and/or your hands quickly under the tap and shake loose water off before brushing/petting.
Run your hands over her coat a few times to collect any extra fur and pile it on the brush
Bauble's Puffer
In the pantry, take one treat from the container with the red lid and place it on the shelf
Remove the light orange cap from the puffer and leave it on the same shelf
Insert the puffer into the spacer so the green regulator is on the top.
Shake it well (5-10 times)
Stand with your left side against the island while holding the puffer in your right hand.
Bauble will usually sit or lay facing the living room and rub her face against the sides of the puffer. Use your left hand/arm to guide her to the puffer, then hold the back of her head and place the mask over her muzzle.
Press the button on the top of the puffer firmly to release the medication into the spacer.
The green regulator flap will be upright if Bauble isn’t breathing and will open during each breath. Try to stay calm and relaxed while holding her head in place until she takes 7 full breaths. We tend to count out loud.
Take the treat from the pantry shelf and place it near her front paws
Remove the puffer from the spacer, replace the cap and place both back on the shelf
Brush Trinket
Remove as much fur as possible from the brushes and throw it in the trash under the kitchen sink
Call Trinket while tapping the towel with an open hand
Use the grey brush to brush from her collar to the end of her tail (not belly)
Use the pink glove to remove the loose hairs from the same area
Run your hands over her coat a few times to collect any extra fur and pile it on the brush
Remove one treat from the round container with the cloudy white lid and place it on the towel near her front paws. If the container runs out, refill by cutting some of the Flexadin treats from the bag in half.
Remove as much of the fur from the brushes as possible and throw it in the trash under the kitchen sink.
Fold the towel, put the brushes on top and return to the top drawer of the pantry
Treats
If looking to give treats at other times, there is usually an open tube of Churru treats in the right door of the fridge and they will happily lick it off the end as you push it up. If there isn’t an open one, there are extras in the pantry. When finished, put a clip on the end and leave it in the door of the fridge (clips are in the top right drawer of the island). You can also give them both the dry treats that are in the container with the red lid in the pantry.
Play
Bauble loves daily (even hourly) interactive play. Trinket can be convinced to play maybe once a week. Their interactive toys are hanging on the inside of the closet between the bathroom and the bedroom. The knob doesn’t turn - just pull the door open.
The green fish is Bauble’s favourite; she also loves being chased around the apartment. The rainbow cloth is Trinket’s favourite and you can tell she’s interested if she watches Bauble play.
They are allowed to play on the couch, Poang rocking chairs, bed and of course the cat condos.
They also have a number of independent toys all over the floor, including take-out forks, paper bags and actual cat toys. If you want to pick the toys up for any reason, you can put them in the bottom hammock of the beige cat condo where Bauble knows to find them! If you want to throw more onto the floor, that’s also where you can find them. ;-)
Trinket’s favourite pastime seems to be scratching at the baseboard under the kitchen sink until it falls off and she can crawl into that empty space, so don’t worry if that baseboard is removed. Feel free to put it back on (it snaps onto the vertical posts) or leave it down.
They are not allowed to scratch at the back of the couch, the leather chair, leather moose, or game topper. If you notice any of this, pick Trinket up and move her to the scratching post.
Cleaning
We scoop their litter boxes and sweep the bathroom once a day. There are doggie poop bags in the top right drawer under the bathroom sink. Once scooped, take the bag out to the garbage area behind the building. The side door is closest, and the same building key works on this door.
The broom and dustpan are in the closet between the bathroom and the bedroom. Disinfecting wipes and cleaner are in the bottom left drawer under the bathroom sink and rags are in the top right drawer of the same cabinet if things get really out of hand.
Extra litter is in the green bag on the floor of the laundry closet. Top up the litter once or twice a week, ensuring there is about 2 inches of litter in each box.
